FoN Capsule Affordability Limit
|
If you’re unable to afford buying more capsules for your Force of Nature Generator (FoN), you can consider making your own hypochlorous acid (HOCl) solution using a DIY recipe. This approach requires some basic household items and electrolysis equipment. If you use the Force of Nature Generator (FoN) and you can't afford to buy more capsules, here's some info to use. According to the recipe, this will help you generate great quality HOCl with your FoN generator. Measure the salt and vinegar by weight: Recipe for 12 oz water 0.7gm salt and 2.5gm vinegar Recipe for 64 oz water 3.82 g salt 14.46 g vinegar, white In your regular FoN generator. Run time will be the same as with capsules. Run it in the 12 ounces of water with the FoN generator. That should bring it to 5-5.5 pH. The ppm may ne higher but that's OK as you can easily dilute. Monitor the pH level and all will be well. Hope this was helpful. |
Advantages:
Challenges:
While making your own HOCl solution using a DIY recipe can be a viable alternative to buying capsules, it’s essential to consider your technical expertise and willingness to experiment before attempting this approach.
If you’re unsure or lack experience with electrolysis and chemical balancing, it may be more practical to explore other options, such as purchasing capsules in bulk or exploring alternative cleaning products.
Additional Tips:
- Cost-effective: Making your own HOCl solution eliminates the need to purchase capsules.
- Customizable: You can adjust the recipe to suit your specific needs and preferences.
- Environmentally friendly: Reduces waste generated by disposable capsules.
Challenges:
- Requires some technical knowledge and experimentation to get the pH and chlorine levels right.
- May not be as convenient as using pre-made capsules.
- Needs regular monitoring and adjustments to maintain the solution’s effectiveness.

Additional Tips:
- Always follow proper safety protocols when working with chemicals and electrolysis equipment.
- Consult online resources and forums for guidance on DIY HOCl solution recipes and troubleshooting.
- Consider investing in a higher-capacity electrolyzer to reduce the need for frequent batch-making.
- If you own a FoN Generator, be aware that homemade solutions may not meet the same EPA standards as commercial products, and their effectiveness may vary...
- But if you use the recipe on this page and follow the guidelines here, you'll hit gold everytime.
FoN Non Capsule Procedure:
As far as DIY goes, here's a ratio that has worked to consistently achieve at least 200ppm (many users report getting 500ppm) in one cycle processing in their new FON device.
The official FON capsule salt content is closer to 0.7 grams, and the vinegar is 2.5 grams, but feel free to adjust accordingly based on your individualized situation, such as water, humidity, and temperature.
Easier to remember 0.7/2.7, right?..But keep it at 2.5grams. You should measure the pH to get it just right at 5-5.5pH.
Keep us posted on how that works in your FON.«««
1. Weigh 0.7 grams of non-iodized, additive-free (no anti-caking ingredients, either) salt on a scale OR
2. 4 level stevia-extract-sized scoops OR
3. Approximately 1/8 tsp OR
Add 2.7 grams (or a little over 1/2 tsp) 5% acidity vinegar
Mix/blend/let sit until totally, completely dissolved.
It should be almost totally clear, like the FON capsule solution.
Add to 12 oz water. Run as usual.
- Use a high-quality electrolysis cell to ensure stability and longevity.
- Monitor pH levels to maintain the optimal range (5-7).
- Test the HOCl solution with pH and PPM (parts per million) strips to ensure consistency.
Weighing is ideal, providing the most precise measurement for accurate, consistent results. Highly recommend.

Generating HOCl using a DIY FoN system is a viable and cost-effective option for those interested in producing their own natural disinfectant and sanitizer.
By following proper setup, generation, and monitoring procedures, you can create a reliable and effective HOCl solution for various applications.
FON-Generated HOCl Purpose
FoN-generated HOCl solutions can be used for both sanitizing and disinfecting purposes.
Here’s a breakdown of the information:
- HOCl is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi (e.g., [1], [2]).
- It is used as a disinfectant in various applications, including sanitizing wash solutions, swimming pools, and drinking water treatment (e.g., [3], [4]).
- The EPA-approved label for HOCL includes claims for killing Listeria and E. coli on surfaces without requiring a rinse and as a sanitizer, allowing for dilution to a lower concentration (e.g., [5]).
- FoN-generated HOCl solutions can be applied as a liquid, mist/fog, or spray, making them suitable for sanitizing and disinfecting various surfaces, including nursery surfaces, bathroom surfaces, athletic facilities, and hospital equipment (e.g., [6]).
While HOCl is primarily intended for disinfecting purposes, its versatility and effectiveness against a wide range of microorganisms make it suitable for sanitizing surfaces as well.
Sanitizing involves reducing the number of microorganisms on a surface to a safe level, whereas disinfecting aims to eliminate all microorganisms.
In the context of FoN-generated HOCl solutions, both sanitizing and disinfecting are possible, depending on the concentration and application method used.
FoN-generated HOCl solutions can be used for both sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces, with the specific purpose determined by the concentration and application method employed.
